Hong Kong Study Tour Day 1

For the first day, we have our first breakfast at an old restaurant thinking that the food over there will be cheaper; in conclusion, it is not!!

We spent an hour to rehearse our performance by squeezing all of us in a room and we went to HK Disneyland right after our rehearsal which cost us around HKD350 for the entrance ticket to Disneyland.

USA Hostel staff do offer us a discounted ticket HKD330 for weekdays only, but need to order from him a day before our visit to Disneyland, and we did not get from him as we wanted it on the spot. We bought an Octopus card which cost HKD150 with HKD100 in it and HKD50 as deposit. (When you return the card, the balance and deposit of the card will be refunded with HKD7 as processing fees). You may check the fares of MTR (which is HK Mass Transit Railway) at their journey planner and they do recommend some interesting places near MTR stations. Octopus card may used on public buses. Some restaurant even accept Octopus card to pay your bills.

Hong Kong Disneyland consists of 4 parts which is USA main street, TommorowLand, FantasyLand and AdventureLand. There is a “Fast Past” feature, but I did not really know how does it works as it was smooth to us at the park without any long queue. A must go attractions are TommorowLand (Buzz Lighyear Astro Blaster, Space Mountain and Stitch Encounter), FantasyLand (Golden Mickey, Snow White Grotto, Mickey’s  PhilharMagic) and AdventureLand (Festival of Lion King, Jungle River Cruise, Liki Tikis). There will be a fire crackers show at the closing of Disneyland around 8pm (May check with the staff). However, due to time constrain, we were unable to ride the Fantasy Train and Tarzan’s Tree House was under renovation. Overall, Disneyland needs a day to explore. You may get your Disneyland souvenir before you leave or you can get it at CLK Airport. We have our dinner near Granville road.
